The votes have been tallied, and unfortunately, I will not be the Republican nominee for the Michigan House of Representatives for the 36th District.

To all those who voted for me, supported me, donated to me, volunteered for me, offered me water, pop, and in one case a cold beer while I was door knocking, and everyone else who had a positive impact on this campaign, I simply say...thank you.

My amazing wife Jennifer sent out a beautiful letter to the citizens of the 36th District telling them why I would be the best choice to be the next State Representative.

I have attached the letter, but if you can't read it, this is what she wrote:

Dear Neighbor,

Thank you for taking a minute of your time to read this letter, I know at this point you must be tired of all the political mail, I know I am. However, I wanted to reach out to you directly to let you know why my husband, Scott Czasak, is the absolute right choice to be our next State Representative.

Yes, I may be a biased source, but if you haven’t met him yet, I hope I can help you get to know him better. One of the many reasons I love Scott is his passion for community & public service. When I married him, I knew I was marrying someone who wanted to dedicate their life to doing more.

My family has lived in this community for nearly 40 years. We moved to Shelby Township when I was just a year old, back when it was still all forest, farms & dirt roads, & have lived here ever since. Scott & I began our lives together in this community, we want to raise our own family here & we have no intention of going anywhere else. This is one of our many shared values, a deep appreciation for this community & a desire to see it well served.

When Scott joined my family, we all gained a one-stop answer shop for issues in our community. No matter if it was a local, state, or national topic, Scott always seemed to know about it & not just the “headlines.” Scott has an in-depth understanding of the laws, policies & history behind issues, who’s responsible for them & where they came from. His wealth of knowledge & experience will be a tremendous asset for our community.

When he told me he wanted to run, I knew this wasn’t just what he wanted to do, but what he was called to do. He’s a passionate public servant who has volunteered & sacrificed for countless others & organizations in the community, state & country. I know his work ethic & when Scott goes to work on something, he keeps going until the job is done.

I could go on and on about why Scott is the best choice, but he needs to know what you think & what you want from your next State Representative. So please drop him an e-mail at scott@scottczasak.com or call his cell phone number at 586-697-0184. I know if you talk to him for just a couple of minutes you’ll quickly understand why he’s the best choice!

Thank you again for taking a few minutes to read this letter, I hope to see you at the polls on Tuesday, August 7, and I ask for your vote for my husband, Scott Czasak, for State Representative.

Respectfully,
Jennifer Czasak

After a long day of knocking doors, Jennifer and I attended the 7th Annual Night Under The Stars at the Greater Romeo Washington Chamber of Commerce.

This is our second year attending this great event, and being able to enjoy so many offerings from local businesses was tremendous!

This morning, the Detroit Free Press announced their endorsement of my campaign in the August Republican Primary!

To have the largest newspaper in Michigan support my campaign is humbling. Further, their belief that my experience working for conservative legislators at the state and federal level will be an asset reaffirms what I have been saying on the campaign trail.
